Privacy Policy

Last updated: 3 June 2026

Corynix Media ("Corynix", "we", "our", "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use corynix.com, why we collect it, how we use it, and the rights you have over it.

1. Who we are

Corynix is an independent football media network publishing match previews, live text updates, predictions and tactical analysis around the FIFA World Cup 2026 and the wider football calendar. We are the data controller for personal data collected through this website.

2. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of data:

  • Information you give us - for example when you subscribe to The Corynix Brief newsletter (email address) or contact us (name, email, message).
  • Information collected automatically - device type, browser, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, approximate location derived from IP address and timestamps. This is collected through server logs and privacy-respecting analytics.
  • Cookies and similar technologies - strictly necessary cookies for site functionality, and (where you consent) analytics cookies to help us improve the product.

3. How we use your data

  • To deliver, maintain and improve the Corynix website.
  • To send the newsletter you subscribed to (you can unsubscribe at any time).
  • To respond to enquiries sent through our contact form or email.
  • To measure aggregate audience metrics so we can improve editorial coverage.
  • To detect, prevent and address abuse, fraud, or security incidents.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

4. Legal basis (GDPR / UK GDPR)

We process personal data under one of the following legal bases: your consent (newsletter, analytics cookies), our legitimate interest in operating and improving the site, performance of a contract (responding to your requests) or compliance with legal obligations.

5. Sharing your data

We do not sell personal data. We share data only with service providers acting as our data processors and bound by contract - for example email delivery providers for the newsletter, hosting providers and analytics tools. A current list is available on request.

6. International transfers

Our processors may be located outside the EEA or the UK. Where this is the case, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or other adequacy mechanisms approved under applicable data protection law.

7. Retention

Newsletter subscriptions are retained until you unsubscribe. Contact form submissions are retained for up to 24 months. Server logs are typically retained for 30 days. We may retain data longer when required by law or to defend legal claims.

8. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to: access, rectify, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, withdraw consent at any time, request portability of your data and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise these rights email privacy@corynix.com.

9. Children

Corynix is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

We use industry-standard administrative, technical and physical safeguards including HTTPS, hashed credentials, access controls and regular review of our processors. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the homepage at least 14 days before they take effect. The "last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
