How the bracket works

The FIFA World Cup 2026 expands to 48 teams across 12 groups. The top two from each group advance, alongside the eight best third-placed sides, into a 32-team knockout phase. To keep the predictor focused on the highest-stakes ties, we seed the Round of 16 with the 12 projected group winners and the four highest-ranked runners-up, arranged in a standard 1-v-16 bracket by FIFA ranking.
